Easy BBQ Sauce Recipes

Regardless of what the weather is throwing our way, it’s June and that means its barbecue time! And every barbecue benefits from an array of delicious BBQ sauces to complement the grilled food, (if you haven't sorted your barbecue yet take a look at a huge charcoal barbecue range here!)

So rather than reaching for the bottles of ketchup, brown sauce and barbecue sauce, why not make your own BBQ sauces to baste your meats and serve with your cooked dishes?

Home-made sauces enable you to be creative and tailor the flavour to your particular tastes – be that sweet, spicy, creamy or rich. This way, you can add a twist on traditional barbecue sauces and offer lots more variety to your guests too.

Of course, a barbecue wouldn’t be a barbecue without covering the basics when it comes to sauces. Last year, sales of brown sauce soared by 9% whereas red sauce sales and barbecue sauce sales dipped a little – although according to a report by research analyst firm Mintel and based on the findings of 1500 consumers, ketchup is still king of the sauces, accounting for 57% of sauce sales.

To ensure you truly delight your guests, you can offer a few home-made BBQ sauces alongside the shop-bought ones. There are so many different types as you have the freedom to add whatever ingredients you want, but to help get you started, we have a few really easy BBQ sauce recipes for you to try.
