Barbecues Are Perfect For Sunday Celebrations

Sundays present the perfect occasion for gathering friends into your garden and throwing a big barbecue party! With the sun shining and spring definitely in the air, many of you won’t need an excuse to light the BBQ and enjoy some delicious dishes with company on a Sunday afternoon – in fact, some of you will likely cook on the barbecue every day, not just Sundays, but why not save your real efforts for the weekend?

This is a view shared by Schloer, the grownup soft drink brand, as the company has just launched its latest campaign – dedicated to the joys of Sundays.

It’s all too easy to focus on Saturday as being the heart of the weekend, but there’s no reason not to make the most of both days and use Sunday for social get-togethers also.

Schloer’s new campaign “celebrates all things Sunday – from sharing a family lunch to enjoying a barbecue with friends”, The Drum reveals.

Amanda Grabham, head of brand marketing for Shloer, said: “We are confident that the promotion combined with our high profile TV campaign, will bring to life our ‘Best Served Shared’ marketing campaign and ensure our sales continue to sparkle in 2012.”

The campaign is running on two-million packs of the White Grape, Red Grape and Rose drinks – so why not join in with the fun and toast Sunday barbecues as you do so? Of course, this may be the drink of choice for designated drivers or those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages – and would complement any other drinks on offer.

When it comes to barbecue drinks, the weather undoubtedly plays a part – when the sun shines and you can feel its warmth, cool drinks like lager, wine and soft drinks tend to go down well. If there’s a nip in the air, a spicy fruit punch is often popular – and you can make it with or without alcohol, depending on preference.

Throwing a Sunday barbecue party could be the ideal way to banish any pre-Monday blues, too. Barbecuing food is a great way to cook, as it’s interactive and you’re surrounded by people you like. You get to choose what you want to eat and how you want it to be cooked – not to mention all those wonderful aromas that the BBQ generates!

You could make a day of it by inviting friends over at midday and enjoying different food cooked on the grill over the course of the afternoon. Make sure you have lots of salads and fresh produce on offer so your guests can simply tuck in whenever they want. Kebabs are a good option for a barbecue party as they are so quick and easy to make, and you can use meat, fish or vegetables – your friends can make their own too. You might also want to have some unusual side dishes that can be enjoyed at any time, such as gorgonzola cheese and mushrooms on French bread or chopped vegetables and an array of different barbecue sauces and dips. Plus, many of your guests will probably turn up with some goodies to add to the party.

So why not make the most of your next free Sunday and invite friends over for a barbecue? If you haven’t purchased a barbecue yet then take a look at our gas barbecues here.
